Recycling Process

Our Recycling process follows (BATRRT) Best Available Treatment Recovery and Recycling Techniques and treatment of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

When returned to our secure processing centre, all equipment is barcoded and Equipment type, make, model, specification and condition grading is logged in our Auditing Management system.

It is best practice to refurbish redundant equipment and extend its serviceable life wherever possible. In the majority of cases, a refurbishment / upgrade allows equipment to be remarketed through our channel of brokers.

Equipment which is either unsuitable for remarket or deemed beyond economical repair is broken down to component level. All components suitable for resale are recovered for remarketing.

The remainder of demanufactured equipment is separated into the following raw materials for recycling;

  • Metals - Aluminium, Steel, Copper etc
  • Batteries
  • Circuit Boards
  • Plastics
  • Glass

  • These materials are sent for recycling by our approved partners enabling us to fulfill our guarantee of Zero IT to Landfill.

    Every aspect of the disposal process is carried out in house at Sustenta, with the exception of the raw material recycling process which is carried out by a number of approved partners.
